The 2008 REALTOR® Foundation Golf Outing
After the last few years of threatening conditions, the weather gods blessed the 200 golfers and 50 sponsors of the 15th Annual REALTOR® Foundation Golf Outing held July 24 at Eagle Creek Golf Club. What a day! Good food, great friends, amazing weather, some fantastic shots and some…well let’s say…some less than stellar golf shots made for a wonderful event. In the end, the fantastic supporters of the Foundation helped raise over $25,000 to support those organizations that serve the homeless of central Indiana. We extend our thanks to all the players and volunteers and to the generous sponsors who supported this event.

Founded in 1984 by the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of REALTORS®, the REALTOR® Foundation provides REALTORS® the opportunity to make a difference by supporting the people, projects and services that shape the quality of their community.

The REALTOR® Foundation is committed to fighting the serious problem of homelessness in central Indiana. Our vision is simple: “To transition central Indiana individuals from homelessness or inadequate or unsafe housing to permanent solutions that positively change their lives.”

Since its founding, the REALTOR® Foundation has awarded grants that have helped central Indiana strengthen its communities. With an increase in the number of homeless people, the Foundation dedicates increased support to organizations that provide services to the victims of homelessness. In October 2007, the REALTOR® Foundation awarded $80,000 to twelve area charities that supply housing for victims of unforeseen circumstances. This amount exceeds what has been granted every year since the REALTOR® Foundation reinvigorated its mission to assist central Indiana’s homeless.
