About RPAC
Contributors Recognize the Influence and Support the Power of RPAC
REALTORS® have POWER when they unite as an industry. Real estate has been one of the few successful markets in the United States throughout the past recession. Property values continue to appreciate,
and the industry continues to thrive. However, real estate has
been one of the few markets that have not seen significant government taxation. Hoosiers live in a time when government is exploring new ways to fund itself. Transfer taxes, service taxes and capitol gain taxes are commonly proposed as funding mechanisms that have been defeated because a few MIBOR members see the power of contributing to The REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC).

Political Action Committees (PAC) exist because of election funding laws that have been established that limit an organization’s ability to contribute to political campaigns. Because MIBOR does not use dues dollars to support candidates, the PAC is its vehicle to do so. RPAC is a
voluntary fund that allows only members of MIBOR to pool money together to endorse candidates. In doing so, relationships
between the organization and elected officials are formed. The relationships allow REALTORS® to get information to candidates
on how current laws, proposed laws and decisions affect their
industry.

Why RPAC Exists?
Decisions made by government can have a dramatic impact
on the real estate industry. RPAC-supported candidates are
actively involved in restructuring Indiana’s property tax system,
updating comprehensive plans, liberating sign ordinance
regulations, improving state and local infrastructure, and
providing affordable health care insurance for REALTORS®.

Want to talk about power?

REALTORS® contributions to RPAC make it the United State’s
leading contributor to federal candidates and perhaps the most
respected PAC in the Nation. RPAC contributes more than $3.7 million to federal political candidates. Locally, MIBOR members will team together to contribute over $200,000. RPAC has shown elected offi cials
the power REALTORS® have when they collect their talents and resources. Be a part of the power that RPAC can harvest and release. Contribute $25 or more online today at www.mibor.com/rpac. Or contact Pat Cline, MIBOR Political Affairs Liaison, at 317/956-5250
or patcline@mibor.com.
