Housing data issued this week by the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of REALTORS® (MIBOR) for June 2015 shows continued increases in pending sales, closed sales, and pricing. Activity continues an upward trend as we move into the second half of 2015. Housing data for June also revealed a slight increase in new listings. Pending sales increased 8.1 percent in the monthly comparison of June 2015 to the same period last year. In the quarter ending in June, pending sales rose 10.3 percent. Closed sales increased by 17.6 percent in June alone and by 11.5 percent in the three-month review. The key indicator of new listings increased by 3.7 percent in June.
The Median Sales Price for central Indiana continues to trend upward with a 5.3 percent increase to $158,000 in June. The Average Sales Price also saw an increase, of 3.1 percent, to $194,259 in June.
“Sales activity is still growing as we head into the second half of the year. Closed sales saw a significant increase this June compared to last year,” said Kathy Hall, 2015 MIBOR president. “Tighter inventory has kept sellers feeling confident this year, with multiple offer scenarios and healthy competition becoming the norm.”
