REALTORS® Speak: The Lesser Known Tips to Selling
We’ve all heard the tried and true steps that should be taken when you are prepping your home for sale. Decluttering and neutralizing your décor is key. Cleaning up the front entrance and yard so the first impression is working for you, not against you is essential, but local REALTORS® offer a few other tips that are less obvious.
- Get replacement estimates. Do you have big-ticket items that need to be replaced, such as your roof or carpeting? The estimates will help buyers determine if they can afford the home, and will be handy when negotiations begin.
- Find your warranties. Gather the warranties, guarantees and user manuals for the furnace, washer and dryer, dishwasher and any other items that will remain with the house. Not only will the eventual new owner need these items, but having them readily available gives potential buyers confidence about your attention to the condition of the home overall.
