What Do You Want from Your REALTOR®
Information about the housing market is more readily available than ever so what do you really need from your agent? Of course you want professional service, meaning you want to be responded to quickly and knowledgeably. You surely want an advocate and someone who will guide you through a transaction giving you confidence and assurance in a complex process. But what else do you seek?
A book called Game Changers by Real Trends examines the business of real estate from both the agent and consumer perspective. The authors talked to 1,000 consumers from across the county and asked what they wanted most. Consumers rated different aspects of their real estate needs on a five point scale. When asked which attributes were either extremely or very important, they answered:
82% Help negotiate the best price to sell or buy their home
69% Provide useful website so clients can look for homes
68% Provide comparable data on other homes
66% Refer services like inspectors
63% Provide clients with a marketing plan
60% Provide online info on homes at meet client criteria
58% Educate client on process
53% Provide info on neighborhoods, schools, etc.
46% Refer client to lender for financing
