Keep it Clean
Pests are hungry and on the hunt for a good snack. So the first thing you can do to help eliminate their intrusion is cleaning up spills and crumbs right away.
Also take out your trash often, store flour, sugar and other dry ingredients in sealed bags or airtight containers, and wash dishes right after a meal.
Some of our pests are drawn to water - particularly mosquitoes and cockroaches. Avoid leaving standing water in your sink, or small puddles on the floor. Take a look at leaky pipes, sinks and appliances and be sure they are not dripping water.
Seal It, Patch It
Are your window screens in need of repair? How is the seal around your door? Take some time to assess these items and make repairs now before you've invited all the neighborhood pests inside! Use caulk to seal up cracks and openings around baseboards, windows and pipes as well.
