MARKET REVIEW FOR JANUARY 2018
New housing data released last week shows an increase in pending sales of 3.1 percent as well as an increase in closed sales, up by 5.3 percent in January.
Median sales price was on the rise this past month as well, up 10.0 percent to $158,000, however, the market saw a drop in new listings, decreased 3.8 percent in January and 3.0.
Along with the Monthly Indicators Report, a one-page report of each county within the service area is also provided. In total, these data sets are intended to be a snapshot of the market, providing historical comparisons whenever possible. The data was pulled from the BLC® listing service on February 16.
As with previous months, January saw a substantial increase in prices for central Indiana. Although we continue to battle low inventory, optimism remains high for a successful spring of buying and selling real estate.
