USDA Backlog Issues Addressed

Industry Insider is a publication distributed by MIBOR every other Friday to Managing Brokers.

USDA Backlog Issues Addressed

Periodically over the last two years, and with growing intensity in the last six months, members have alerted MIBOR staff to a significant and troublesome backlog in the processing of loans through the USDA Rural Development’s Single Family Housing Guaranteed Loan Program. Since that time attempts have been made, with the assistance of NAR, to obtain information and status updates.

  Rental Fraud Persists
As reported here last month, rental fraud is a continuing problem in our market and many others across the country. Several forms of this scam can occur from scraped listing data used to create false rental ads to alarming and dangerous scenarios where vacant homes are broken into and offered for rent to unsuspecting members of the public.

Many of these scams are halted when the potential renter, neighbor, appraisers or others become suspicious and contacts the listing agent of the property.
If you have vacant listings, you are urged to check them regularly for signs of unauthorized entry. Please continue to report these incidents to MIBOR so that information may be disseminated to the membership, and efforts may be coordinated with law enforcement. Contact Debbie Fairfax at 317-956-5241 or with any details or concerns. MORE
