MIBOR Partners on Graffiti Abatement; Launch Event Next Wednesday

Industry Insider is a publication distributed by MIBOR every other Friday to Managing Brokers.

MIBOR Partners on Graffiti Abatement; Launch Event Next Wednesday
MIBOR is proud to announce a partnership with The Indianapolis Public Safety Foundation on a first of its kind Graffiti Abatement Program. Graffiti vandalism is an environmental public nuisance and is destructive of the rights and property values of neighboring property owners and as well as the entire community. It is a visual symbol of disorder and lawlessness and contributes to a downward spiral of blight and decay. MIBOR's interest in this groundbreaking project stems from our public policy initiatives that aim to invest and improve the future of communities where REALTORS® do business. To fund our involvement, MIBOR applied for and received a Game Changers grant from the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).

You are invited to join other volunteers for the Department of Public Safety Graffiti Abatement Program launch event on Wednesday, June 24th from 8:00 a.m. to noon. We will volunteer to paint over abated graffiti. The meeting location is 2800 Martin Luther King Blvd in Indianapolis. Parking is available in a surface lot at the site. A press conference with Public Safety Director Troy Riggs is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.

In this ongoing project, a specialized Graffiti Abatement Unit/Truck has been outfitted with chemical abatement materials and cleaning products. This mobile unit will travel to affected areas to eradicate graffiti. The ongoing workforce participants are trained individuals from the Recycle Force program which mentors and trains formerly incarcerated individuals looking to gain stability through improved workforce skills.

Partners in this effort include: Indianapolis Public Safety Foundation; Indianapolis Department of Code Enforcement; Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department; Indianapolis Fire Department; Indianapolis Department of Public Works; Cardwell Do-It-Best; Recycle Force and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful.

We hope you will be part of the kick-off effort on Wednesday, June 24th. Click here to register.
