Recently, the City of Indianapolis passed a landlord registration ordinance that will now require anyone who rents residential property to first register with the city starting January 1, 2015. Housing data released by MIBOR today shows strong prices increases in central Indiana with continued decreases in closed and pending sales. It’s been a similar narrative all year; media and average sales price growing 4-6 percent each month with closed sales trailing. Closed sales for August declined by 2.9 percent however, less than the 8.5 percent decline in July. Pending sales fell only slightly; less than one percent.

As you have likely heard by now, there will soon be a new BLC® listing service platform. The tentative plan is to bring the Matrix™ system up in parallel with Tempo and Fusion™ in November of 2014 for system testing. System presentations and training will be in December and January, with a final implementation in late January or early February 2015. Following comprehensive training, Tempo and Fusion™ will be disabled and Matrix™ will be our sole BLC® listing service platform.

Housing data released by MIBOR today shows stable increases in home prices in central Indiana with continued decreases in closed and pending sales. However new listings increased 2.5 percent for the quarter ending in July and 2.2 in the month of July. Months Supply of Inventory rose 4.8 percent to 5.9 months. Sales prices remain stable.
