INDIANAPOLIS — On Saturday, the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of REALTORS® (MIBOR) recognized industry and community service standouts at its annual ball. Members and guests celebrated a new year of opportunities and honored local real estate professionals who made a positive impact on central Indiana in 2014.
The 2014 REALTOR® of the Year was awarded to Dave Goff of Carpenter, REALTORS®. The REALTOR® of the Year award is given to one member who exemplifies professionalism and success in the area of real estate as well as a commitment to MIBOR activities and services.
Andy Stone of Security Home Inspections was named the 2014 Affiliate of the Year. The Affiliate of the Year Award is given to an affiliate member who displays outstanding professionalism and service to the MIBOR Board of Directors.
Sue Applegate of Keller Williams Indy Metro North, Rusty Carter of F.C. Tucker Co., and Phil Ludlow of Carpenter, REALTORS® all took home the Distinguished Service Award. The Distinguished Service Award celebrates a lifetime of outstanding service and commitment to the real estate industry.
Finally, Shelly Walters of RE/MAX Ability Plus was honored with the F.C. “Bud” Tucker Community Service Award. This special award is not granted every year — when it is, it is bestowed upon a MIBOR member who has made a direct impact on the community outside of real estate, helping to build a positive image for the real estate industry.
“Each year, the MIBOR Ball celebrates REALTORS® who work tirelessly in their efforts to better the communities in which they live and work,” said Kathy Hall, 2015 MIBOR president. “This year’s winners truly exemplify what a REALTOR® should be and serve as the standard of how we can all work together to affect positive change in our communities.”
The MIBOR Ball also served as a signature fundraiser for the REALTOR® Foundation, MIBOR’s philanthropic arm that raises funds to support the operations of central Indiana homelessness service providers. The REALTOR® Foundation celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2014.
