Event Wrap-Ups

5 Days. 6,900 Dollars. One Cause.

Thank you to everyone who participated in REALTOR® Foundation Awareness Week last week! Hundreds of members participated in this year’s activities, making it the most well attended Awareness Week in history!

More than 250 people gathered at 3 Mass for the signature event, Taste of Indy, where a fabulous 3100 square foot condo overlooking Mass Ave. was on display. While enjoying tasty treats from Agio, Shula’s, JS Reutz, Scotty’s Brewhouse and Adam Siurek and drinks courtesy of Monarch Beverage and BuDa Lounge, guests were reminded of what the festivities were all about as they listened to a Foundation grant recipient who resides at the John Craine House.

The event raised $3,200, which was matched dollar for dollar by Halakar Real Estate and 3 Mass, bringing the total to $6,400.

Another Awareness Week hit, the ice cream truck made its way to over 20 offices throughout the week, delivering lots of treats and even more smiles. Approximately $500 was raised through donations as the ice cream truck made its way around town generating awareness for the Foundation. A special thanks to our corporate partner Chicago Title.

Last but not least, thanks to all the volunteers who shared their time and energy on Make a Difference Day by sprucing up our grant recipients’ facilities.

The Ball - January 24, 2009

Raising over $22,000 for the Foundation, the 2009 Ball was a night full of celebration and honor. Thank you to all the sponsors and attendees for helping make the night such a great success! Click here to see a list of 2009 sponsors.

All of the proceeds from this year’s event will be used to help area organizations provide safe, decent living conditions for those affected by homelessness.

Escape the Holiday Madness

On December 4, the REALTOR® Foundation and Hansen & Horn took some time to escape the holiday madness. Attendees were invited to play cards and bid on a variety of silent auction items. Several individuals brought their favorite pot of chili to share. Congratulations to the Keller Williams North office for having the most attendees. Their office won a Keurig "Ultimate Gourmet" office brewing system. Special thanks to Hansen & Horn for hosting the event.

Holiday Wine Tasting

Thanks to the Hamilton County Division for hosting a great wine tasting in honor of the Foundation! On Thursday, November 13, a packed room sampled a variety of wines while munching on delicious food catered by MBP Distinctive Catering and listening to the Carmel High School orchestra. A silent auction raised even more money for homelessness. While we don’t know the total amount raised yet, we do know that everyone had a great time and it kicked the holidays off in style!

Foundation Announces 2009 Grants

On October 16 , the Foundation Board of Directors announced its largest grant total ever as $90,000 was donated to eleven central Indiana organizations. Recipient organizations included: Christian Help, Inc.; Coburn Place Safe Haven; Desert Rose Foundation; Gennesaret Free Clinic/HRP; Hancock Hope House; Holy Family Services; John P. Craine House; Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center; Partners in Housing Development Corp.; Pathway to Recovery; Sheltering Wings Center for Women. Click here to learn more about each recipient.

An additional $10,000 was provided in emergency grants to flood victims in June bringing the Foundation’s total giving to $100,000 in 2008. To view pictures from the event, visit the Foundation Gallery at www.realtorfoundation.org/gallery.asp.

Oktoberfest Wrap-Up

Oktoberfest 2008 gave several ‘talents’ a chance to shine while enjoying the authentic German atmosphere of the Rathskeller ballroom. The crowd enjoyed original songs from Bruce and Grant Lyons before taking their own shot at karaoke. Check out the pictures at the new Foundation Gallery or click here to view video from the event.

2008 Golf Outing

Sun Shines on Foundation Outing
After the last few years of threatening conditions, the weather gods blessed the 200 golfers and 50 sponsors of the 15th Annual REALTOR® Foundation Golf Outing held July 24 at Eagle Creek Golf Club. What a day! Good food, great friends, amazing weather, some fantastic shots and some…well let’s say…some less than stellar golf shots made for a wonderful event. In the end, the fantastic supporters of the Foundation helped raise over $25,000 to support those organizations that serve the homeless of central Indiana. We extend our thanks to all the players and volunteers and to the generous sponsors who supported this event. Click here to view those generous sponsors. For more details from the outing, visit www.mibor.com/golf and to view pics, visit the Foundation Gallery.
