Veteran Finds New Home
ribbon-cutting2 She approached the podium with poise, just as she had been taught in the U.S. Navy. She told the crowd gathered there about her time serving this country as an air traffic controller. Then she mentioned her two children, ages six and four, and that she was currently on the dean's list in nursing school.

What she didn't mention was that after her honorable discharge from the Navy, she fell into an abusive relationship and found herself moving from a temporary shelter to an apartment she couldn't afford, narrowly escaping eviction and homelessness. I've been fortunate in my career and feel that the less fortunate deserves help finding a home and it's an opportunity to lend support, through the mission of the Foundation," she says of her decision to join.
