Veteran Finds New Home
She approached the podium with poise, just as she had been taught in the U.S. Navy. She told the crowd gathered there about her time serving this country as an air traffic controller. Then she mentioned her two children, ages six and four, and that she was currently on the dean's list in nursing school.
What she didn't mention was that after her honorable discharge from the Navy, she fell into an abusive relationship and found herself moving from a temporary shelter to an apartment she couldn't afford, narrowly escaping eviction and homelessness. Her family had its own personal struggles and just couldn't help her. Despite her discipline, 'LT' knew that she needed help, and she found it through a true partnership effort among agencies in Indianapolis. MORE

Robbie Williams Gets Behind a Cause
When Robbie Williams gets behind a cause, there is no stopping her. And so it has been for the last six years while Robbie has served on the REALTOR® Foundation Board of Directors. "I knew that many people did not have a home because of abuse or job loss, and it touched my heart. Everyone in real estate should reach out to those people in
need. I've been fortunate in my career and feel that the less fortunate deserves help finding a home and it's an opportunity to lend support, through the mission of the Foundation," she says of her decision to join. MORE |
