Now that the Christmas season is over, it’s time to un-deck the halls and take down all the decorations. If you’re looking for a place to recycle your Christmas tree, the city of Indianapolis has got your back! The Indianapolis Department of Public Works and Indy Parks announced that they will be collecting live Christmas trees at drop-off points in public parks throughout Indianapolis. These drop off points will stay open Dec. 25 to Jan. 31 from dawn until dusk. Make sure to remove the tree stand and all ornaments, tinsel, lights, and decorations before dropping it off.

Here are all the drop-off locations in Indy:

  • Broad Ripple Park (1610 Broad Ripple Avenue) east side of the lot
  • Ellenberger Park (5301 E. St. Clair Street) by the pool, in the northeast corner
  • Garfield Park (2345 Pagoda Drive) MacAllister Amphitheater
  • Krannert Park (605 S. High School Road) north parking lot
  • Northwestway Park (5253 W. 62nd St.) to the left of the entrance
  • Perry Park (451 E. Stop 11 Road) to the left of the Stop 11 main entrance
  • Riverside Park (2420 N. Riverside Drive) by the basketball court
  • Sahm Park (6801 E. 91st St.) near the recycling bins
