Clear Eyes, Full Hoosiers, Can't Lose
With Labor Day behind us it’s time to talk all things autumn- hoodies, Halloween, pumpkin-spiced flavored everything, and football… in no particular order (if it were up to me it’s Halloween > everything else). We are now entering our 3rd week of High School football.
Growing up in the Midwest there are few sweeter sounds than hearing the marching band and seeing the glow of the lights emitting from a football field on Friday nights. Whether you’re there to watch the game, drink hot chocolate, or seizing the opportunity to talk with the cute girl from P.E. (“Mom just drop me off here and I’ll walk a half mile to the game. I can’t let them see me get out of the car”), it’s a night to celebrate.
This season the usual titans of IHSAA football are already making a move to make sure they’re competing for the state title in Lucas Oil in late November. Top ranked in their respective Class:
6A- Warren Central
5A- New Palestine
3A- Bishop Chatard
Though a lot can change from here until late October when the regular season ends, these are the teams that are either leader of the pack... or enemy #1 depending on who you’re rooting for.
