New Restaurants to Try in Indianapolis
As a resident of Indianapolis, I love trying out new restaurants. Here are three that I’m excited to try this spring:
Root and Bone
Root and Bone is the perfect place to go for a comfort food fix! Created by celebrity chefs, Janine Booth and Jeffrey McInnis of Top Chef, this restaurant focuses on the “timeless recipes and traditions of a rural America”. The menu includes options such as melon & pickles, a fried green tomato ‘BLT’, and barbeque bruleed spareribs.
Need a staycation? Check out Strange Bird in Irvington. Brothers Neal and Paul Warner, residents of Irvington and creators of Coat Check Coffee and Provider), created Strange Bird as a cozy watering hole with tropical murals and retro looking brass mirrors. At this eclectic bar, you’ll get a taste of the tropics with awesome offerings that includes aged rums, cocktails, and a phenomenal food menu.
Croute Baking Company
Want something sweet downtown? Stop by Croute Baking Company for a quick afternoon pick-me-up or delicious lunch. There won’t be seating so take your food to the circle or a nearby park for a lovely outdoor meal. Just make sure to go early – they close at 2pm and often times, they will sell out of their most popular items!
