INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Association of REALTORS® (IAR) recently announced Randy Scheidt as the 2020 REALTOR® of the Year. In addition, they announced Bruce Bright as the 2020 Distinguished Service Award winner. The announcement was made at IAR’s annual Stakeholder meeting.
“We are so proud to have both Randy Scheidt and Bruce Bright recognized on the state level,” said Shelley Specchio, MIBOR CEO. “They are both hard working individuals who have committed themselves to not only the real estate industry, but to the community as well. These are members that go above and beyond through excellent service, community engagement and political advocacy.”
Randy Scheidt was one of nineteen REALTORS® from across the state who were nominated to receive the Indiana REALTOR® of the Year (ROTY) award. The Indiana ROTY recognizes REALTOR® members of local Boards/Associations for effort expended in the interest of their fellow REALTORS®, their community and the real estate profession, and who exemplify the highest level of professional conduct in serving the real estate needs of the general public. This year nineteen nominations were received for this award.
Randy, founder of Scheidt Commercial Realty, currently serves as Chair of MIBOR’s Economic Development Council, Vice Chair of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Commercial Federal Policy Committee, and member of the NAR Broker Engagement Committee. He is a Past President of the REALTOR Foundation and the Indiana Commercial Board of REALTORS®. His committee participation as Chairperson and Member with local, state and national associations is as extensive and impressive as his many years in real estate. Randy was recognized with the MIBOR Distinguished Service Award in 2017 and was also inducted to the RPAC Hall of Fame in 2018. Randy was recently named the first recipient of the ICBR Distinguished Service Award.

Bruce Bright is only the nineteenth Indiana Realtor® to receive the esteemed Distinguished Service Award (DSA), since IAR’s founding over 100 years ago. The Indiana DSA was established to provide recognition to those REALTORS® who have provided many years of leadership and distinguished service to the REALTOR® organization as well as in their local community.
Bruce, Broker/REALTOR® at NextHome Connection, has over 30 years of experience in real estate and currently serves as Director for the National Association of REALTORS®, Vice-President, Region 7, of the National Association of REALTORS®. He is a past President of MIBOR REALTOR® Association, the Indiana Association of REALTORS® and The MIBOR REALTOR® Foundation. He has also served at Moderator for the Indiana Real Estate Leadership Academy and the MIBOR Real Estate Academy of Leadership. Bruce was honored with the MIBOR REALTOR® Of the Year award in 2007 and the Indiana Association of REALTORS® REALTOR® of the Year award in 2008. He also received the MIBOR Distinguished Service Award in 2016.
