New Member Orientation

*New Member Orientation is a requirement for REALTOR® & Designated REALTOR® membership.

*Affiliate members are welcome to attend but it is not a requirement of membership. 

*New Member Orientation is from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month following the month you make application.

*New Member Orientation must be completed within three months from the approval of application or the application will be deactivated.

Beginning January 2019, New Member Orientation will take on a new format. The format will go from a half-day orientation, to now a full-day orientation. This change is occurring to ensure that our members have all of the tools and resources that are needed to start their real estate career. 

New Member Orientation is made up of four parts; Your Association, Technology, and Communication and Cooperation. During each section you will take a journey through different perks of your membership. New Member Orientation is meant to be interactive, so please be sure to bring your technology device that you plan to use for business.

The day also includes your 2.5 required Code of Ethics course. The Code of Ethics forms the foundation of membership in MIBOR. Adherence to the 17 Articles of the Code of Ethics distinguishes REALTORS® from real estate licensees. The Code spells out a higher standard of professional behavior in three categories; Duties to Customers and Clients; Duties to the Public, and Duties to Other REALTORS®. Upon joining MIBOR, all REALTOR® members agree to the duties and obligations of the Code, and thereby are subject to sanction if found to be in violation of the Articles of the Code of Ethics.

New Designated REALTOR® Orientation
is on the first Friday of the month from 9 - 11 a.m. following the month you make application. Managing Broker/Owners who have never been a member of MIBOR or who have been an inactive member for two or more years, are required to complete New Member Orientation AND New Managing Broker Orientation.
