Data Licensing
Data Licensing
There are four types of Data Licensing Agreements available based on the intended use of the data including IDX, VOW, Back-Office, and Broker-Only Data. Read through each agreement description below to determine which option is right for you.
Data Licensing
Data Licensing
The Internet Data Exchange (IDX) policy defines the MIBOR BLC® Listing Service Participant’s (the principal broker’s) authorization of limited electronic display and delivery of their listings by other Participants and their licensees via the following authorized mediums under the Participant’s control: websites, mobile apps, and audio devices.
The Participant must have the ability to add, delete, modify and update information as required by this policy. All displays of the IDX electronic display or delivery of a listing must be under the actual and apparent control of the Participant and must be presented to the public as being the Participant’s display or delivery. Any IDX display or delivery by a licensee of the principal broker is subject to the Participant’s oversight, supervision, and accountability and must include the Participant’s company name or logo in compliance with Indiana license law requirement. Only those data fields available on the Consumer Full Detail report may be included in the electronic display or delivery.
For those working with a professional web developer, a full data set delivered via an API data feed is available through our partnership with MLS Grid. This data delivery process provides seamless access to one data license for any of the four use needs: IDX, VOW, Back Office, or Broker Only.
Here’s how it works:

Account Registration
To register for an account with MLS Grid, go to www.mlsgrid.com and click “Log In” in the top right corner. Even though you don’t have an account yet, you will then see an option to click “+Sign Up”.

Complete the registration form to create your account, and an automatic response will be sent to the email entered, providing account credentials.

Once an account is created, the Participant broker can be invited to the appropriate license for signature. The license request is then sent to the BLC® for approval, which may take up to five business days for processing for new vendors. Once an account is established, subsequent subdomain licenses are approved within two business days.
The Virtual Office Website (“VOW”) policy is a feature of a Participant’s website, through which the Participant is capable of providing real estate brokerage services to consumers with whom the Participant has first established a broker-consumer relationship (as defined by Indiana State law) where the consumer has the opportunity to search Broker Listing Cooperative® listing service listing information, subject to the Participant’s oversight, supervision, and accountability.
A non-principal broker or sales licensee affiliated with a Participant may, with his or her Participant’s consent, operate a VOW. Any VOW of a non-principal broker or sales licensee is subject to the Participant’s oversight, supervision, and accountability.
The licensing of MIBOR BLC® Listing Service data for use in Back-Office operations is specific to the Participant’s (the principal broker’s) internal use of the MIBOR BLC® Listing Service data within their brokerage for legitimate business purposes as governed by the Back Office Agreement.
Broker Only Information
A Broker Only Data Subscription can be used to access only the Participant’s (the principal broker’s) brokerage listings for their own internal usage. This data service is available to the Participant for no fee.
