Economic & Community Development Council
MIBOR REALTOR® Association has consistently been the leader in our involvement with economic and community development compared to peer Associations across the country. Dating back to the early 1990’s, MIBOR REALTOR® Association became involved with economic development efforts in central Indiana because of the valuable connection of economic development and housing strategies.
We, like the National Association of REALTORS®, place high importance upon our continued involvement with economic and community development because we know it directly impacts the strength of our communities and the sustainability of the real estate industry. When we look at impactful community-based initiatives we discuss things like walkability and design, the availability of green spaces such as parks and trails, education opportunities, retail and restaurant development, multimodal transportation options, and other components that have direct ties to what makes an area an attractive place to live.
By leveraging our relationships with elected officials, economic developers, civic leaders and other organizations across central Indiana, we are at the table for this sector’s most important conversations. This involvement also significantly increases REALTOR® relevancy and the importance of having our industry plugged in to support economic and community development success.
MIBOR’s Economic & Community Development Council supports organizations and initiatives that build and maintain inclusive and vibrant communities, attract, develop and retain a skilled regional workforce and work towards the attraction and retention of quality jobs for central Indiana.
We know thriving communities are critical to a thriving real estate market. Therefore, REALTORS® invest and engage in economic development and community outreach.
