A New Way to Tackle Neighborhood Graffiti
Local REALTORS® are part of an innovative way to help home and business owners who have been victimized by graffiti. This week, a new mobile abatement truck was unveiled. It will travel Indianapolis removing graffiti and then painting over the affected areas.

Partners for the Graffiti Abatement Program include the Indy Public Safety Foundation; Indianapolis Dept. of Code Enforcement; IMPD; IFD; Department of Public Works; Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of REALTORS®, Cardwell Do-It-Best; Recycle Force, and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful’s Graffiti-Free Indy Initiative.

MIBOR President Kathy Hall was part of a group of volunteers who kicked off the event by painting a local business and several homes. “This program impacts two critical issues at the heart of healthy neighborhoods – increasing public safety and erasing the negative impact graffiti has on property value, quality of life and economic development,” said Kathy Hall. “The project is a perfect fit for ongoing REALTOR® involvement.”

Local news outlets explain how the program works.
