Where to Watch Fireworks this Weekend
If it weren’t for the weather and my job I wouldn’t know what day of the week it is. With the 500 being postponed, professional sports not occurring, social events not happening, it’s been hard to keep track the basic rhythms time.
With that being said this weekend is the 4th of July. A day to eat hot dogs, celebrate the privilege of freedom, wear sunscreen then-transition-to bug spray, and hopefully watch something colorful explode into a night sky.
Many annual celebrations have either been cancelled due to Covid-19 (hey I made it two paragraphs before acknowledging it! Good for me), and it only takes one lap around a firework store to realize that the financial investment of fireworks for a 2-3 second thrill is not a smart move. Where can you find some public-good sky candy?
If you’re in Hamilton County you have options- being the overachiever, Carmel is hosting three locations plus Forest Park in Noblesville. Here are the other locations as reported by IndysChild.com:
- Mulberry Fields, Zionsville
- Morse Lake, Cicero
- Eagle Church, Whitestown
- Arbuckle Acres Park, Brownsburg
- Lebanon Middle School, Lebanon
Not seeing any locations for our eastern and southern neighbors in Hancock and Johnson Counties, but hey it’s summertime! Roll your windows down, put on Tom Petty, and head over to Hamilton, Hendricks, or Boone, we’d love to host you! Read all of the details here.
