MIBOR Master Professional (MPRO)

The MIBOR Master Professional Certification Program (MPRO) is designed to equip members with education and experience in essential aspects of the real estate industry, achieving excellence in core competencies. MPRO Certified Members demonstrate a commitment to the highest standards of knowledge and professionalism ensuring an exceptional consumer and peer experience.

Next MPRO Boot Camp is tentatively scheduled in person for February 28th - March 3rd, 2022. However, you can register at any time to get started on the certification!

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a MIBOR REALTOR® member in active status
  • Must complete the program within 24 months from initial application*

*Reinstatement fee of $50 applies after 24 months

Will include approximately 20 hours of instruction and attendance at 7 various local or national meetings. Applicants should be able to complete all requirements within 12 months but must complete by 24 months from registration date.

How to Apply

The member must submit an application and fee of $250 to begin their journey. Once the applicant has completed all requirements, the applicant will be granted MPRO certification. Interested in attending the next boot camp? Click the link below to register.

During MPRO Boot Camp, you can earn up to 9 hours of continuing education, 6 of which are managing broker specific. Upon designation, the member will be provided with a toolkit containing a logo to use in marketing materials and on social media to promote themselves as MPRO certified. Certified members will also be awarded a certificate and lapel pin.

  • Complete MIBOR’s Navigating Contracts course
    This course addresses common issues with contracts and how to navigate through the challenges. 3-hour approved CE course. Held at least twice a year at MIBOR. Free to MPRO applicants, $50 fee to all other members.

  • Attend MIBOR’s Working with Industry Partners panel
    This session provides discussion about common questions & issues surrounding the appraisal, title, home inspection and mortgage aspects of the transaction. 90 minute session. Held at least twice a year at MIBOR. Free to MPRO applicants, $50 fee to all other members.

  • Complete at least 1 (out of 2 offered) MIBOR Professionalism Matters courses
    These two courses address common professionalism issues, ways to turn an unprofessional situation into a professional one, as well as best practices and office policies. Managing brokers and team leads are highly encouraged to attend both courses. Each is a 3-hour approved CE course and held at least twice a year at MIBOR. Free to MPRO applicants, $50 fee for each course to all other members. Note: Completion of prior offerings of the Professionalism Matters courses will be accepted up to one year prior to application submission.

  • Attend COE Do’s and Don’ts session
    This session is led by the Professional Services Department. Held at least twice a year at MIBOR and at Division meetings/office visits. 90-minute session. Free to MPRO applicants, $25 fee to all other members.

  • Complete one of the following:
  • Complete course on agent safety OR Complete self-defense course
    Self-defense courses can be taken through outside provider. Courses will be accepted up to one year prior to application submission

  • Complete MIBOR’s Your Community session
    This course covers the difference between federal, state, and local governments, zoning and sign regulations, understanding RPAC, voting, elected officials, how MIBOR impacts community, etc. 90-minute session. Held at least twice a year at MIBOR. Free to MPRO applicants, $25 fee to all other members.

  • Complete MIBOR’s BLC® Rules & Regs session
    This course covers the history & purpose of BLC, RESO standards, MLS Grid, Do’s & Don’ts, Industry Trends, etc. 90-minute session. Held at least twice a year at MIBOR. Free to all members.

  • Complete at least 4 MIBOR BLC® technology tool trainings
    Choose from several offered trainings of interest to you. A list of trainings can be found here. (New Member Orientation & New Broker Orientation trainings excluded) Free to all members. Note: Completion of MIBOR tech trainings will be accepted up to one year prior to application submission.

  • Complete MIBOR’s Navigating the Ever-Changing Landscape of Real Estate session
    This session will cover all aspects of issues in the industry, common misconceptions, understanding and embracing the evolving industry. 90-minute session. Held at least twice a year at MIBOR. Free to MPRO applicants, $50 fee to all other members.

  • Attend 4 MIBOR Division meetings

    The Commitment to Excellence (C2EX) Program is a National Association of REALTORS® member benefit that empowers REALTORS® to demonstrate their professionalism and commitment to conducting business at the highest standards. Access the program at Free to all NAR members.

  • Why was MPRO created?
    In a recent survey, MIBOR members attributed professionalism concerns to a lack of knowledge, communication/responsiveness and attitude/cooperation. Given this feedback, the MIBOR Master Professional Certification Program was specifically designed to advance the level of knowledge and professionalism of our members, in turn creating an exceptional wealth of highly skilled REALTORS®.

  • What is the difference between C2EX and MPRO?
    The Commitment to Excellence (C2EX) Program is an online program created by the National Association of REALTORS®. The C2EX program is designed to address professionalism by providing tools and resources to increase knowledge and enhance skillsets. The MIBOR Master Professional Certification Program (MPRO) is a hands-on approach to addressing professionalism issues facing our membership, focusing on empowering our members to feel confident in speaking to local issues, exercise best practices, and successfully resolve conflict. Where C2EX is a broad national program, MPRO is a local program addressing the specific needs of our members.

  • What is MPRO+?
    Recognizing the value of the C2EX Program, MIBOR members who receive the C2EX Endorsement and complete all requirements of the MPRO program will receive the MPRO+ certification, indicating their dedication and commitment to their own professionalism as well as the professionalism of their industry.

  • Is there a cost for this program?
    Yes, the program requires a $250 registration fee, which covers the cost of CE courses, materials, expert speakers, lapel pin, and certificate.

  • How does the MPRO Certification benefit me?
    During MPRO Boot Camp, you can earn up to 9 hours of continuing education, 6 of which are managing broker specific. Once MPRO or MPRO+ certified, you will receive a toolkit with a logo to use in marketing materials to promote yourself. This will let consumers and your peers know they’re working with a REALTOR® who is dedicated to being a top professional every step of the way.

  • Is MPRO only for newer REALTORS®, or can any REALTOR® register for the program?
    MPRO Certification is available to any MIBOR REALTOR® member in active status.

  • What if I can’t attend each day during the boot camp week?
    If you can’t attend one of the days during boot camp, then you can make up that day during another boot camp offered later in the year. Please just contact us beforehand so it can be officially noted.

  • Are the boot camp sessions all day long?
    No, some days end by 12:30pm. You must complete at least 1 of the 2 offered Professionalism Matters courses, which are offered on one boot camp day, between 8:30am-4:30pm.

  • Do any of the requirements count for CE?
    Yes! You can earn up to 9 hours of continuing education, 6 of which are managing broker specific. By completing the minimum for certification, you will receive 6 hours of CE.

  • How do I submit proof of attendance for local events or meetings?
    If you’ve attended one of the required community or MIBOR classes, meetings and/or events then you can submit your verified registration sheet, or other documentation, pictures, etc. to prove your attendance. Please contact us if you have any questions about what will count as proof.
  • What if I already attended events or meetings in the past? Do those count?
    Yes! If you’ve attended events or taken courses that count towards MPRO requirements, they can count if they were taken one year prior to your MPRO registration date. Remember it’s only valid up to one year back from the date you registered for MPRO. Once you provide us documentation, we will mark that towards your certification checklist.
