Patrick Cline

General Counsel

Pat has served as MIBOR’s General Counsel since late 2021, however his love for MIBOR dates back to 2008 when he first joined MIBOR’s staff in the Government Affairs Department. Pat left to pursue law school and then spent eight years practicing business law and litigation at an Indianapolis law firm where, in late 2017, he was thrilled to start representing MIBOR as its outside counsel.

Pat never lost his love for working with the staff and members of MIBOR, so he jumped at the opportunity to rejoin MIBOR’s staff in late 2021 as General Counsel. In this role, Pat is a member of the executive management team and is responsible for the legal and risk management matters of MIBOR. In addition, he leads the Professionalism Department which provides important dispute resolution services, arbitration services and enforces NAR’s Code of Ethics through a formal hearing process.

When he isn’t at work, you’ll find him spending time with his family (usually with his wife on the sidelines of their son’s sports activities) or at home watching the Cubs, Hoosiers or anything written by the great Aaron Sorkin. Years into his journey at MIBOR, Pat is still impressed by the culture and values demonstrated by his colleagues on MIBOR’s staff, and the dedication of MIBOR’s members who take so much time away from their real jobs and family to volunteer to help improve their industry and community. As someone who used to live by the “billable hour,” he is genuinely moved and impressed by so many of MIBOR’s volunteer leaders.
