Women’s History Month Celebration

Violinist and Sphinx collaborator Melissa White returns to Hilbert Circle Theatre to perform Florence Price’s Violin Concerto. The program also features six female composers from around the world, including Brazil, the United States, China, Canada, Indonesia, and Mexico. Florence Price was a trailblazer who created a successful career at a time when there were few opportunities for female composers. The rest of the composers featured continue to blaze trails in the 21st century with their wide range of styles and perspectives, standing at the forefront of classical compositions today.
