President and Founder, Lisa Sturtevant of Lisa Sturtevant & Associates, LLC
Dr. Lisa Sturtevant has been involved in research and analysis on local economic, demographic and housing market conditions and local housing solutions for more than 15 years. Since the inception of Lisa Sturtevant and Associates, LLC, Lisa has led numerous housing studies for local jurisdictions in Virginia, Maryland, South Carolina, Indiana, Iowa and Minnesota. She has worked on housing-related research projects for national organizations, including the National Association of Realtors®, AARP, National Housing Conference, National Multifamily Housing Council and Urban Land Institute. She has spoken on local affordable and workforce housing issues in cities and counties throughout the U.S.
Between 2013 and 2016, Lisa served as Vice President for Research for the National Housing Conference (NHC) where she was responsible for setting NHC’s research agenda and managing research on local affordable housing best practices and on the intersection of housing with other areas, including health, education and economic self-sufficiency.
Prior to NHC, Dr. Sturtevant served as Deputy Director of the Center for Regional Analysis and Associate Research Professor at the George Mason University School of Public Policy. Lisa worked as a Planner from 2000 to 2005 in the Arlington County, Virginia Department of Community Planning, Housing and Development.
Dr. Sturtevant graduated from Wake Forest University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in mathematical economics. She has a Master’s degree in public policy from the University of Maryland and a PhD in public policy (concentration in regional economic development) from George Mason University.
